Unique in Aotearoa New Zealand, START is a team of specialist Speech Language Therapists working with people of all ages who stutter.
The team are small but yet very driven, they provide both individual therapy sessions as well as a range of groups and courses for people of all ages. Their vision is to ensure that everyone who stutters are fully supported to reach their full potential.
The Lindsay Foundation is delighted to able to assist the START team with the resources necessary to take the next steps, ensuring that in particular children and young people don’t feel isolated and indeed have access to the tools and education necessary to promote confidence, eliminating those feelings of embarrassment, frustration and shame which sadly leads to many of our youth to withdraw.
